@Google @ISB

It struck me while watching Garr Reynolds on @Google that there are many presentations at my school that could be videoed, archived and then made available as podcasts or on YouTube. We often have guest speakers visit the school but it’s so busy around ISB that it’s hard to get to them. It would be great to make the presentations available via the web. It would be important to keep the process easy/streamlined like Google does so as to not make the process a time burden. It’s doable.

@Google Talks

I stumbled upon @Google Talks today. It’s on YouTube. The videos feature presentations made to Google employees. There isn’t a lot of background information given but they appear to be presentations made in various Google offices. (They remind me of the “Brown Bag” lunch talks I attended during university.)

They are organized into three categories–Authors@Google, Women@Google, and Candidates@Google.

A quick look at the speaker list shows: John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Tom Brokaw.

How To Create a Great PowerPoint Without Breaking The Law

Filed under: Design — Rob @ 5:12 pm and

I have a short “chat” I do with kids I call Death By PowerPoint. It’s about design and using PowerPoint effectively–without boring anyone to death.

Today I watched a great presentation entitled How To Create a Great PowerPoint Without Breaking The Law. It combines information about copyright laws with design principles and PowerPoint techniques.

It’s well worth viewing. In fact, it should be required viewing for anyone that uses PowerPoint.
